Land Deeds & Court Records - Sophia and John Jarrett
I uploaded two land grant files for John Jarrett. George and Margaret Plott's daughter, Sophia, married a John Jarrett. Through deduction, I'm thinking that the John Jarrett, who obtained these two land grants was Sophia's husband. (c. 1766 to c. It is presumed Sophia died 1815 when Anthony became an orphan.) married John Jarrett (c.1766 to c. first quarter of 1812, according to Cabarrus County, N.C. Pleas and Quarter Sessions.) There were a couple of other John Jarrett's in the surrounding counties; however, information and dates for those John Jarrett's don't relate to Cabarrus County or the dates are not aligned to be correct. The Cabarrus County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions report that Sophia's son Anthony was a minor within Cabarrus County. So, that clue, tells us that Sophia and John Jarrett lived in Cabarrus County. However, for some odd reason, John Jarrett did not report his family on the 1790, 1800 or 1810 census. Why?, is a big question, which I don't have an answer.
