(6) Catherine Plott (c. 1772 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina to c. October 1836 to April 1837). She married first Robert Lee (c. 1770 to c. after August 7, 1820) on February 26, 1794 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The bondsman was her father, George Plott. Her second husband was James Baugh. All three died in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Children with Robert Lee: Mary Polly Lee married Joseph Plunkett and Joseph W. Klutts, Elias Lee married Catherine Hilock and Mary Polly Moony, Margaret Lee married James C. Hannon and James Eagle, Culpepper Lee married Mary Polly Ferguson, Lucinda Lee married Henry S. Gorman, and James I. Lee married Mahala Huie. No known children with Mr. Baugh

Mary Polly Lee first married Joseph Plunket, see marriage record. Second, she married Joseph W. Klutts. Joseph obtained a land grant next to John Plott, Jr.'s land. John Plott, Jr. was the son of John Plott, Sr. and Sarah Gilliam.

Tombstone August 4, 1797 to August 3, 1884; Buried Haywood County, N.C.; census for 1880 Elias was reported as 83 years old. N.C., Marriage Index, 1741-2004, Catherine Hilock on February 23, 1823, Cabarrus County, County Court Records at Concord, N.C. Catherine was alive for the 1870 Haywood County census. She must have died during the 1870s, as on the 1880 Haywood County census Elias has a second wife Mary M.
In the Cabarrus County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, April 1839, it was listed, "Tavern Licenses: Klutts, Geo., Walker, Daniel M., Lee, Elias, and Billips, Geo." Please note that Daniel M. Walker was the husband of Pheby Ann Plott, who was the daughter of John Plott and Sarrah Gilliam-Plott. So, Elias Lee and Pheby Ann Plott-Walker were first cousins.
Elias Lee was very active in the Democratic Meetings of Haywood County.

Culpepper Lee in the N.C., Marriage Index, 1741-2004, Mary Ferguson, married January 3, 1828. On the 1840 census Culpepper was recorded on the same page with his brother, Elias Lee. Ergo, there was a Culpepper Lee (died in Cabarrus County, N.C.) and Elias Lee (buried in Haywood County, N.C.); two distinct brothers.

On September 17, 1836, Catherine (Plott-Lee) Baugh, provides a written authorization to “The Clerk of the Court of Pleas & Quarter for Lincoln County, You will please to pay to my son James I. Lee the Ballances due me from the estate of Elias Plott (for George Plott's estate)...” Remember, Elias Plott was an Executor for George Plott’s Last Will and Testament

Robert Lee is found on the 1800, 1810 and 1820 census. On the 1810 census, it is observed that Robert Lee's name is the name right above Catherine's brother, Isaac Plott.
Husband (2) John Baugh, shoemaker, (c. 1788 to c. after the 1850 census). “Lives in Cabarrus” was written on the list of children for George and Margaret Plott. No children from this union; however, after Catherine dies c. 1836 John married Rebecca McGraw and they have children. A marriage certificate for John and Rebecca was dated May 20, 1837 and 1850 census list them with children: Mary M., John F., Sarah E. and James D. (other children are unknown at this time).
